Learning of Kitab
The methods used by teachers in the dayah to understand
the contents of the kitab, read, interpret and explain the contents of the kitab
is the normative method. That is, every santri must listen to what is explained
by an ustadz, then the material must be applied in everyday life. The school
used by this pesantren is the school of Shafi'i. The aspect of this pesantren
education is to create a soul of kepasantrenan that can form the self (self /
soul) of the whole man. [2] This is evidenced by the emphasis on each santri in
order to actually carry out the obligations that become the amar of God and to
abandon what is the forehead of God, referring to the existing kitabs. Slightly
overwhelmed, that to understand the contents of the yellow kitab in fact there
should be a basic understanding of the kitab, whether nahwu or sharaf, but many
among his santri are still strange about nahwu and sharaf, this is especially
in santri level madrasah 'aliyah, the santrinya benyak Graduates of MTsN and
junior high school who then went to this dayah, so that the ustadz hard to
explain the contents of the kitab. The position of ustadz here is as the
speaker and also as the central figure which is then passed on to his santrinya
as mentioned in the kitab written by Kamaruzzaman BA. The subtitle:
"pesantren as the center of the muslin civilization: the Islamic experience
for southeast asia".
In this pesantren, the kitab that is used to
read, interpret and write the contents of the kitab is: the lesson of sharaf is
usually used "kitab sharaf" while for the lesson nahwu used the kitab
"Kawakib Ad-Duriyah" and "Mukhtasar Jidan". As for the
field of fiqh is "Al-Bajuri" and for tasawwuf is "Ta'lim
Muta'alim".
Judging from the way in which students
understand the kitab is usually a santri must be able to memorize the contents
of the kitab that has been taught, after it is set to the ustadz concerned in
"Jambo meurana" [3] or in the classroom. With this method is expected
to santri will be able to master the yellow kitab, at least know the rules of
how to read the kitab.
As for the field of law, an ustadz teaches
according to the Shafi'i school and a santri must do what the teacher taught.
This means that the pesantren adheres to the syafi'iyah sect as well as the
influence of the great scholars of Aceh who follow the syafi'iyah school
At the beginning of the discussion it has been
mentioned that the kitab's lesson is a requirement of pesantren graduation, at
the end of each semester, usually held "imtihan" commonly referred to
by santri-DA as "imtihanu fikulli marhalah". Here, every santri must be
able to read the kitab and to prove it there is a test that becomes a program
per semester-an. In this test, a santri tested his establishment faced in the
pulpit that his audience is among ustadz-ustadzah as well as the santriwan and
santriwati in the complex. This test is aimed for the students to improve their
quality individually and able to increase the quantity of santri into santri
who can compete and side by side with the students in other dayah-dayah.
